ORIENTATION - INTRODUCTION to NATIONWIDE FOSTER/ADOPTION OPTIONS (INFO): For famililes who wish to adopt an older child from the foster care system, either in NY or nationwide. This meeting is not for newborn or international adoption. We talk about foster care and foster-to-adoption. The meeting is approximately 3 hours long. All are welcome (no children please). Families must come to an INFO meeting before they can begin foster-to-adopt Certification Training, or apply to a foster-to-adopt program. See INFO MEETINGS CALENDAR below. Reservations are required - email Rich: ffasrich@gmail.com or call (718) 224-1919.

FFAS CERTIFICATION TRAINING FOR FOSTER-TO-ADOPTION: Our 40-hour course prepares you to adopt the multiply-betrayed children of the foster care system, and is required for families in order to be approved and licensed in one of our foster-to-adopt programs. This course is also available to any parents of adopted children, as well as to adoption professionals. This is not MAPP training, and is not interchangeable with other training or applicable with other agencies. You must attend an INFO Meeting before you can attend Certification Training. After an INFO Meeting, you may start Certification Training with either Group A or Group B, and you must complete both (14 sessions) to be FFAS Certified. See training calendar below for a complete schedule of training dates. For reservations email Rich at ffasrich@gmail.com or call (718) 224-1919.

The first step for any family considering adoption is to become informed about what kind of adoption is right for them, which agency can help them, where to start, and what to expect. FFAS offers the following Orientation and Training. There are no fees to attend an Orientation.
