How Does Your Donation Help?
Every dollar we receive goes toward supporting the needs of “our kids”- the 4% of children in care who have nothing and nobody personal in their lives to meet the needs we take for granted. Some examples of what donations have provided are:
- Dresses, suits, or tux rentals for special occasions such as proms, sweet 16 parties, quinceaneras, etc.
- Driving lessons
- Karate lessons and gym memberships
- Bicycles
- Personal items like special deodorant or body wash
- Phones and phone plans – necessary for job hunting, peer contact, and a “normative experience” (everybody has one!)
- Community experiences such as eating at a restaurant, shopping, learning public transportation, etc.
- Living essentials for new apartments for kids aging out of care
- And much more…
