Orientation - Adopting from Foster Care

Orientations are held once a month via Zoom. For dates send us an inquiry using the form on this page.

Who are the older kids in foster care who are ready to be adopted? How did they get there? What do I need to do to adopt them? Our Orientation answers these questions and many more. You must attend an Orientation before you sign up for training.

NTDC Course for Foster Care and Fostering-to-Adopt

Training is 14 weeks via Zoom and one weekend in person at our office near Albany.

Family Focus offers certification in the National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC) for foster and pre-adoptive foster families, as required in New York. Because we are an adoption agency, we have enhanced this training with some of our adoption-specific philosophies. Our training series is offered several times per year. You must attend an Orientation before you can sign up for NTDC.
